New Delhi: Punjab Kings (PBKS) posted a video on their social media on Monday, March 17, to announce that their captain Shreyas Iyer has arrived in preparation for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). The 18th season of this eagerly awaited tournament is scheduled to start on March 22.

The 30-year-old led the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to victory in the 2024 season but decided to leave the team before the 2025 mega auction. During the auction, he was acquired by Punjab Kings for an impressive INR 26.75 crore. In January, he was named their captain for the 2025 season.

As the 2025 season approaches in just a few days, the Kings posted a video on their official X account to reveal the arrival of their captain.

Shreyas played a significant role in the Indian team that triumphed in the 2025 Champions Trophy, where they overcame New Zealand in the final held on March 9 in Dubai. The Indian team won by four wickets to take home the championship. Throughout the tournament, Shreyas demonstrated outstanding performance, scoring a total of 243 runs across five innings, which featured two half-centuries.

The Punjab Kings are set to begin their IPL 2025 season on March 25, facing Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Below is the complete schedule for the Punjab Kings for this season:
