West Bengal Bongaon Police Arrested Two People For Attempting Incite Communal Tension With Pakistani Flag

West Bengal Pakistani Flags Row: Two people have been arrested by the Bongaon police on charges of pasting Pakistani flags on the public toilet wall in West Bengal. Police say that these people tried to incite communal tension. This flag was seen on Wednesday (April 30, 2025) near Akipur station in North 24-Pargana district of late night, which comes under Gopalnagar police station.

According to the report by The Telegraph, the police say that the accused had also planned to write inflammatory slogans like Hindustan Murdabad and Pakistan Zindabad on the wall to disturb the peace in the area. Those arrested have been identified as 30 -year -old Chandan Malakar and 45 -year -old Progyajit Mandal. According to the police, both are residents of the area and Sanatani Ekta is said to be an active member of the Manch as well as a political party.

What did the police say?

In a post shared on X on Thursday (May 01, 2025), the Bongaon police said that the act was done intentionally and its purpose was to spoil communal harmony. Police said that both of them have confessed to this act. Police said, “This was done to deliberately spread communal unrest. We will leave no stone unturned to punish such conspiracy.”

Law will do its job, said police

A case has been registered against both the people and they have been taken into custody. Police have said that investigation is going on and strict action will be taken against anyone found in an attempt to disturb the peace. A senior official said that the law will do its job against those who try to take advantage of religious sentiments and destabilize the atmosphere.
