Women will get employment from mulberry silk and tassar silk farming in UP ANN

Up new scheme for women: Rural women of Uttar Pradesh are now getting a new opportunity to get employment sitting at home. Under a new initiative of the state government, women of self -help groups will now become ‘silk sakhi’ and can increase their income by following silk insects. This scheme is considered an important step towards making women self -reliant.

The State Rural Livelihood Mission and Silk Department are implementing this scheme together. The government aims to connect 50,000 women with silk production in the next five years. For this, women will be trained so that they can learn the technique of silk insect farming well and succeed in this field.

Women will be informed about 2 types of silk rearing
Under the scheme, women are being informed about two types of silk rearing- Mulberry silk and tasar silk. For this, two separate exposure visits were recently organized. A team was sent to Mysore, Karnataka, where they took training in mulberry silk rearing. At the same time, the other team went to Ranchi in Jharkhand, where Tasar was learned about silk rearing.

Director of State Rural Livelihood Mission, Deepa Ranjan said that in the financial year 2025-26, 7500 women from 15 districts will be linked to this scheme. This program will be intensively implemented in these districts. This scheme will not only strengthen women financially, but will also give a new boost to silk production in the state.

Women will benefit from schemes
The government is implementing a variety of schemes to empower women in the state and increase their income. By following silk pests, there will be double the increase in the income of women in the state. Along with this, this can bring positive results for the state’s economy.
