Wow Khan Saheb, what is the Mahaviri flag in ‘Chhoti Ayodhya’ for 35 years; Famous to abroad

The Mahaviri flag has a special place on the festival of Ramnavami. In most of the houses, people put Mahavir flag. Apart from this, the arena also leads the journey with Mahaviri flag in his procession. Shamsher Khan, a resident of Mandai in Hazaribagh, has been busy in making this Mahaviri flag for the last 35 years. Shamsher Khan comes from the Muslim community.

Talking to Local 18 Jharkhand, Shamsher Khan says that he has been engaged in the work of Mahaviri flag for the last 35 years. He makes the Mahaviri flag throughout the year. His flag made is not only Hazaribagh, but has reached other countries. The Mahaviri flag has given him a special identity. People also know them for the flag. The companion of the end of Ramnavami, he gets involved in the work of making a flag for the next year’s Ram Navami.

He further informed that this year he has prepared the largest Mahavir flag of 120 meters of clothes which has been built for Giridih district. Apart from this, the flag built by his hands has also waved in Ram temple Ayodhya. He also prepared a flag with 125 meters of cloth for Ram temple Ayodhya.

He further informed that Agarwal of Hazaribagh works to build the flag by joining with the handloom. Customers from far and wide reach them to build the flag. He also enjoys this work very much. Shamsher Khan says that the biggest identity of the artisan is his workmanship.
