The upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction was set in motion after the five franchises on Thursday announced the names of the players they have retained.
Each franchise was allowed to retain a maximum of five players — a maximum of three capped Indian players, and a maximum of two overseas players. In case a franchise opted to retain five players, at least one of them had to be an uncapped Indian player.
The WPL 2026 auction is set to take place on November 27 in New Delhi.
