3 Players RCB Can Release Ahead Of Next IPL Auction And Free Up Over 15 Crore – Cricket.com
In a bid to strengthen their squad, Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 winners Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) might consider letting go of a few players ahead of the next season. We look at three such players RCB can release ahead of the 2026 auction and free up some purse.
Liam Livingstone never really justified his price tag. In his first three innings, he scored 79 runs at 39.5 at a strike-rate of 146.3, including a fifty. However, since then, he scored just 33 more runs in five innings at an abysmal average of 6.6 and strike rate of 110. He also bowled just nine overs in the tournament, picking up a couple of wickets.
It will be interesting to see if RCB persist with the England all-rounder or use the INR 8.75 crore spent on him elsewhere in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction.
Raskih Salam played just a couple of matches for RCB in 2025, picking up just one wicket. Yash Dayal, who was retained ahead of the mega auction, was preferred over Rasikh, and the left-arm pacer delivered. Still 25, Rasikh has plenty of years ahead of him, but it may not be with RCB.
INR 6 crore is a huge sum for someone who is not even going to play one-third of the matches in the tournament, and RCB could go in for someone who they believe can give them more matches in the upcoming season.
Swapnil Singh is one of the few players who have played the 2025 edition and was also part of the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008. While the all-rounder might play in the next edition, it is highly possible that he will not be with RCB. The left-arm spinner, who was bought for just INR 50 lakh, played seven matches for RCB in 2024 but did not get a single game in 2025 due to the emergence of Krunal Pandya, who proved to be a bargain.
His chances will go down even more next season, and if the 34-year-old wants to play more, it would be best for him and RCB to part ways.
