Suyash with his final over. Dhoni pushes one to deep cover for a single. Dot ball as Jadeja mistimes one back to the bowler. Picks up a single to long off next ball. Dhoni gets a single to point. Jadeja goes for a lofted shot over log off, David hares in from the deep but can’t get to it. Just six from the over. 
Ngidi with his third. Full toss on the stumps, Jadeja mistimes towards midwicket for a single. WICKET!! Mhatre looks to slog a slower ball towards midwicket, holes out to deep midwicket. Full toss on the pads, caught in front and the umpire raises his finger. Brevis is late to go up for the review and will have to walk back.

Mhatre attempts to loft one over the offside, Patidar moves backwards but fails to hold on to the catch over his shoulder. Four!! Overpitched on the stumps, lofted down the ground for a boundary. Ngidi with his third over. Jadeja looks to ramp but adjusts after seeing a ball outside off, jams it to the bowler’s right and picks up a single. Ayush picks up a single. Low full toss on the stumps, Mhatre lofts through midwicket for a single. Four!! Full down leg, Jadeja manages to clip it through deep fine for a boundary. 
Four!! Suyash goes outside off, Jadeja places the cut between the two fielders and finds the gap. Jadeja punches one straight at the stumps on the other end and will get a single to long on. Mhatre goes down the ground, David manages to cover the ground and keep it to two. Slogs across the line, miscues it towards midwicket for a single. Four!! Slogs one more across the line, finds the gap between long on and deep midwicket. 
Dayal back for his second. Mhatre slaps a wide ball over cover and picks up a couple. Yorker on the stumps, dug out for a single by Jadeja. Mhatre gets an outside edge on his attempted lofted shot, runs down to third man for a single. Six runs from the over. 
Suyash with his second. Full on the pads, whipped to long on for a single by Mhatre. Six!! Slightly short, Jadeja rocks on the backfoot and lofts one over midwicket for six. Outside edge as the ball rises on Jadeja’s cut, Ngidi stretches but fails to get near it. Four!! Wide outside off, slapped off the backfoot through cover for a boundary by Jadeja. Patidar getting some medical attention on his finger. Jadeja picks up a single to deep midwicket. Ayush defends one to backward point and scampers across for a quick single. 
Romarion Shephard into the attack. Jadeja picks a single to deep square leg. SIX! A slower ball on the pads, Mhatre picks this over fine leg. A slower ball on the stumps now, Mhatre is forced to check his shot, defends it in the end.
SIX! Massive! Too short from Shephard, Mhatre leans over his on side and smokes this over midwicket. FOUR! Drives the next one between covers and mid off. An edge on the final delivery, gets a single to third man.
Suyash Sharma in as Impact Player. Starts wide of off, Jadeja opens his bat face to pick one run to deep covers. A wrong one to Mhatre, hits straight back and only gets one.
FOUR! Short in length, Jadeja uses his crease and pummels this through midwicket. A cut to point on the next, single completed.
A maiden fifty for Ayush Mhatre. He works the fifth delivery to deep midwicket and gets to the milestone with a single. Jadeja with another single through the off side.
Ngidi to Jadeja, FOUR, an edge as Jadeja tries to drive, but this goes too fine for third man to save. A mix up between the pair, Jadeja hits through midwicket and is half way down the crease. Mhatre does not start, waiting to see if the fielder cuts this off or not. A fumble from Krunal allows Jadeja to get back in time. 
A single on the third, Ngidi rolls his wrists for an off cutter and Jadeja taps this through the on side. A miscue for Mhatre as he tries to clear the fence through the off side, comes off the toe end, but lands short of deep covers.
FOUR! Jadeja makes room, gets the width to throw his hands at this, sends this past the point fielder. A slower ball to end the over, Jadeja punches through mid off and gets a single.
Krunal for his third over. Four singles in the over before a SIX closes the over. Charges down to the bowler, who bowls a bouncer, a top edge over the keeper.
Lungi Ngidi for the first time this IPL. Mhatre slices the first over point, one run. Ngidi stays over the wicket to Curran, bowls it at the stumps and Curran defends.
A back-of-a-length delivery angling away from Curran, short arm jabs this to mid on, no run. GONE! Curran falls! He goes for a pull on this bouncer, too quick for him, gets a top edge and Jitesh completes the catch.

Ravindra Jadeja at No. 4. Dances down on the first ball, inside-edges his heave to midwicket. He drives the last ball to extra covers. Just one run from the over.
Krunal for his second. Rasheed punches the first to mid on off his back foot, gets a single. Another single, back of length, Mhatre waits for this to reach him and punches to cover-point.
WICKET! A wide yorker and Rasheed digs this out to the point fielder.

Sam Curran at No. 3. FOUR! Off the mark right away. A long hop, outside off and Curran pulls this away past mid on. A cow corner in place for the next delivery and Curran pulls to the fielder for a single. Mhatre with a punch to long on, gets a single to retain strike.
Bhuvneshwar to Mhatre, FOUR, whacks this length ball down the ground. FOUR again! Too full and Mhatre chips this past the bowler.
FOUR! Full toss and this time Mhatre smashes through mid on. SIX! A length ball angling into the batter, Mhatre clears his front leg and dispatches this over long on.
FOUR more! Delicate! Mhatre makes room for a big heave and despite the change of length he drives this through extra covers. FOUR to end! A late cut past the point fielder. 
Mhatre picks 26 runs off this over.
Yash Dayal now. Wide of off to Rasheed, slashes this into the ground and fielded by short third man. The second is a short ball on the leg stump, Rasheed pulls to fine leg, one run.
Mhatre on strike, one run to mid off, tries to slog this over midwicket, but the delivery rushes onto him and comes off the sticker of the bat. Rasheed charges, miscues his slog, no run.
FOUR! Too far down leg, Rasheed swivels and pulls this through fine leg. SIX! Another delivery that is down leg, Rasheed again sends this through fine leg, this time straight over the fence.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the second over. Rasheed gets width, slashes this but only as fat as covers, no run. The second is fuller, nips into Rasheed, he goes for a cut but gets an inside edge onto the ground, no run.
Rasheed punches the third to point, runs one. FOUR! Mhatre uses the pace and width to nudge this between point and third man.
The fifth delivery nips into the stumps, Mhatre defends. He tries to slog on the final delivery, but the movement into the batter sees him play this towards mid on.
Ayush Mhatre and Shaik Rasheed to begin the run chase. Krunal Pandya to bowl the first over.
He starts with an inswinging arm ball, thuds into Mhatre’s pads, no run. The next two also drift into the right-hander, Mhatre struggles to time.
FOUR! Mhatre gets a bit of width and he swats this down the ground. He goes for an on-sided heave on the fifth, gets an inside edge and runs one.

Shepherd misses his wild slog on a fuller ball. Four!! Manages to get some bat on the slog this time, beats the long on fielder and finds the boundary. Brute power. Six!! In the slot on the stumps, lofted over midwicket for six more. 50 partnership in 15 balls. Six!! Full outside off, lofted over long off for another six. What a last couple of overs for RCB. The host finishes on 213/5 in 20 overs.
Khaleel with his third. Six!! Short of a length outside off, Shepherd pulls it over midwicket for six! Six!! Full and straight, lofted straight down the ground for six more. Four!! Shepherd throws his hands again, the outside edge clears short third and finds the fence. Six!! Full toss now, lofted down the ground for six more. Six!! Lofts another one over cover for six. That’s a no-ball as well for cutting the return crease. Full and wide, in the blackhole. The free hit ends up as a dot. Four!! Short again, pulled over the square leg fielder and runs away for another boundary. 33 from the over.
Patidar pulls the first ball of Pathirana’s over towards square leg, falls short of the fielder running across. David cuts a wide ball towards point, Mhatre can’t hold on and concedes a single. WICKET!! Patidar looks to loft a short of length ball over mid off, can’t clear the fielder. Third wicket for Pathirana. 
Romario Shepherd is welcomed with a short ball. Ducks under it. Flicks the next ball to deep fine for one. 
Noor with his final over. Jitesh guides a wide ball through point for a couple. WICKET!! A touch short, Jitesh looks to pull it over log on but can’t clear the fielder. Curran takes a good catch and relays it back to Brevis. 
Tim David in at 6. Defends a full ball to the bowler’s right and decides against the single. 
Pathirana back. WICKET!! Full and wide, Padikkal looks to loft over the offside, finds the fielder at deep cover. 
Jitesh in at 5. Defends the first ball to backward point. Full on the legs, Jitesh fails to get bat on his flick. Mistimes his pull shot, falls well inside the 30-yard circle and he picks up a single. Short ball to Patidar, pulled to deep fine for a single. Four!! Full on the stumps, driven past mid off for a boundary. 
Noor back for his third. Patidar picks a single to long off. Padikkal barely manages to get his bat on the attempted lofted shot, the inside edge runs away for a single. Four singles from the over. 
Padikkal pushes the first ball of the Curran over to mid off. Padikkal misses an attempted pull shot and sees his watch scattered into pieces. Padikkal getting some medical attention after that knock. Four!! Lofts the next ball over mid off and collects a boundary. Six!! Full, in the slot, lofted straight down the ground for six! Short ball, Padikkal pulls to deep midwicket for a single. Patidar picks up a single to long off. 
Noor back into the attack. Four!! Full outside off, Patidar creams the drive past cover and finds the boundary cushions. Padikkal gets an outside edge, picks up a single to short third. Six runs from the over. 
Curran with his second. Padikkal picks up a single to the offside sweeper. Four!! Kohli walks down the track and punches one to long off, Hooda lets it slip through his fingers and to the boundary. Padikkal picks up a single to mid off. WICKET!! Slower short ball outside off, Kohli guides it straight to Khaleel at short third. Patidar in at 4. 
Six!! Kohli slog sweeps the first ball of the Jadeja over to midwicket for six! Brings back the length a touch, guided to point for a single. Padikkal cuts a wide ball from Jadeja but can’t get it past backward point. Fired in wide again, slapped to deep cover for one. Four!! Kohli cuts a length ball past backward point for a boundary to bring up his fifty! Four! Another boundary through the covers for Kohli.
Matheesha Pathirana is the new bowler. On the middle stump to Kohli, whips this to square leg, one run. Bethell misses out on a short ball, gets an inside edge onto his pad, a dot ball.
A full delivery outside off, drills this to deep covers for one. Kohli picks a single to deep fine leg.
WHAT A CATCH! Brevis with a piece of magic to get CSK the breakthrough. Bethell skies a pull shot, Brevis comes running in from deep midwicket and dives to complete the catch.

Jadeja again. Kohli goes on his back foot to punch the first delivery to long on, gets one. 
FOUR! Fifty for Bethell in just 28 balls. He gets there with a reverse sweep, loses his balance but not the control over the shot. He gets an inside edge onto his pad on the next, still gets a single.
Kohli with a flick through the on side to make that seven runs from the over.
Sam Curran into the attack. FOUR! Wide to Bethell, slashes this past backward point. The second delivery is closer to the off stump, Bethell glides this to deep third for one.
A back-of-a-length ball, from back of the hand, Kohli punches to long off and runs one. Bethell cuts again, this time the deep point is finer, keeps that to just one.
SIX! Kohli with super fast hand speed, reads the slower one to pull this over deep midwicket. A bit of a yes-no between the pair but they pick a single to midwicket on the final delivery.
Ravindra Jadeja to bowl now. He beats Kohli on the first, this one turns away from the right hander. Kohli drives the second to long off for a single.
Bethell cuts the third on the up, gets a single to deep point. A straight one, slower through the air, gets the edge to third man, no run. 
Another dot ball, Kohli looks to heave over covers, misses the shot. A punch to midwicket on the final delivery, no run again.
Kamboj to Kohli, SIX! A length ball going into the pads, Kohli lofts this through the on side. FOUR! A couple of steps down the wicket and punches this away past mid on.
A dot ball to follow. A short-pitched delivery, Kohli tries to glance this off his toes, misses. Kohli makes room, tries to chip this full delivery over covers, cannot beat covers, no run. 
A swing and a miss! Too wide outside off, no real front foot press from Kohli as he tries to throw his hands at this, misses it. A single to deep midwicket on the final delivery.
Noor Ahmad into the attack. The first delivery is driven by Bethell, covers stops this. Bethell tries to play the second off his back foot, same result.
FOUR! An attempted slog sweep from Bethell, gets it off the inside of the bat, but the sheer power due to the bat swing ensures this races to the fence. SIX now! Slightly shorter, Bethell rocks back and pummels this over midwicket.
Noor bowls a wrong one, hits the inside edge as Bethell tries to drive, fielded by midwicket.
FOUR! A juicy full toss outside off, Bethell guides this between covers and mid off.
Kamboj again. FOUR! An on drive from Bethell on this full delivery. Bethell tries to hack this through the on side, gets an outside edge due to the movement away, the ball just beats the cover fielder, single taken.
Kohli shuffles to his on side, but Kamboj bowls this even wider to beat Kohli’s slash. A single on the fourth with a tap through the off side.
There’s a collision between Pathirana and Jadeja. Bethell gets a leading edge over third man, Jadeja goes off after this from point and Pathirana comes in from deep third. The two collide and Pathirana seems to have hurt his face. Pathirana goes off the field to get treatment.
FOUR for Kohli, punches this through cover-point.
Khaleel to Bethell, drives to mid off, dot ball. SIX! Length ball, outside off and Bethell drags this from there over midwicket.
Khaleel with a nice reply, beats Bethell. This one is outside off and nips in after pitching, Bethell misses the cut. The fourth is cut away to deep third man, one run.
Khaleel to Kohli now. SIX! A bouncer around the leg-stump line, Kohli gets in position without a lot of feet movement, hooks this over fine leg. SIX more! On the pads but the ball is moving away from him, but Kohli picks this up over deep square leg.
Anshul Kamboj now. BEATEN! Pitches at a length from over the wicket, rises on the leftie and angles across, just misses the outside edge. The second is straight at the stumps, Bethell defends.
Bethell steps out of his crease and drives to the right of mid off, one run. Kohli for his first delivery, outside off and full, Kohli taps through covers and picks a single.
The fifth delivery is back-of-a-length, Bethell opts for a pull shot, does not time it well enough, still manages to clear the infield, one run. Outside off to Kohli, who plays towards point, no run.

Khaleel Ahmed to bowl the first over. The first delivery is full, tails into the off stump, Bethell drives, no run. Another one that nips into the off stump, not as full, would have hit the top of off but Bethell blocks this.
FOUR! Short and wide and Bethell cuts this away past point. FOUR again! Bethell uses the pace to nudge this towards deep third, the fielder puts in a dive but cannot save that. 
FOUR! A glorious square drive past the point fielder. The last delivery squares up the left hander, the edge goes past point again, one run to deep third.

It is not often that Chennai Super Kings visits Royal Challengers Bengaluru with the stakes this low. Last May at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, the famed rivals were locked in a direct battle for the last available Indian Premier League playoffs spot.
But come Saturday, all that is left for the already-eliminated M.S. Dhoni & Co. is the search for some signs of life after being deflated and dead for most of the season. 
In contrast, RCB will have a spring in its step. It is sitting pretty in the top half of the table and is coming into the game after winning three on the bounce. Another victory – its eighth this edition – will help the side take a giant stride towards playoffs qualification.
