BJP Foundation Day 45 years Leadership crisis in Bihar ann
BJP foundation day 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party, established on 5 April 1980, has completed its 45 years on Saturday. In this long journey, BJP saw many ups and downs. Legendary leaders like late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi took oath as Prime Minister three times. Today, BJP dominates the politics of the country. In 15 states, the party has its own Chief Minister while in 6 states he is the CM of allies. The NDA rule is over 70% of the country’s population, but in the Hindi speaking states, there is a state where BJP has not been able to handle power on its own till date, it is Bihar.
BJP’s incomplete desire in Bihar
Bihar is the only state in the Hindi speaking states of North India, where BJP has not been able to become its Chief Minister till date. This thing remains like a twitch in the minds of party leaders and workers. Lalu Yadav came to power in 1990 with the support of BJP. Despite winning more seats in 2000, BJP handed over the Chief Minister’s chair to Nitish Kumar. After this, BJP could not achieve the position in the politics of alliance, which its workers want.
Question on policy, not a leader
Analysts have been analyzing this situation of BJP in different ways in Bihar, but one thing is clear that BJP does not have any genetic in Bihar. The state who gave crowd Puller leaders like Lalu Yadav, Nitish Kumar and Ram Vilas Paswan, not a single month leader of the BJP questions the party’s policy, why BJP could not make up a face in Bihar that could make its mark among the public?
BJP confined in Nitish’s shadow
BJP could not get out of Nitish Kumar’s shadow in Bihar. Leaders like Sushil Modi were the focal point, but could not become a public leader. Names like CP Thakur, Mangal Pandey, Gopal Narayan Singh and Sanjay Jaiswal became president, but could not make an identity among the public. Prem Kumar, Nand Kishore Yadav, Renu Devi and Vijay Sinha tried to carry forward, but these leaders failed to mobilize their art and skills.
When there was an attempt to get out of Nitish’s shadow, names like Giriraj Singh, Nityanand Rai and Samrat Chaudhary came out. But they were given Qatar soon. The ambition and the political stumps stopped them from moving forward.
Organization strong, but leader missing
The BJP calls itself an organization -based party, and this is also true. But his organization in Bihar failed to make a public leader. Or simply say that the leadership did not allow anyone to emerge. Emperor Chaudhary holds a hold on the organization, but is weak in terms of public acceptance. The experiment of advancing Nityanand Rai has failed. Vijay Sinha was the Deputy CM and the Leader of Opposition, but neither his acceptance in the party nor among the public. It was also an experiment to make Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi deputy CMs, which missed the politics of Bihar, the result-Nitish Kumar had to break the alliance.
Use of Dilip Jaiswal also faded
Last year, BJP made Dilip Jaiswal the state president. There was an attempt to help Vaishya votes and give a neutral face. But after a disputed decision like land survey in Bihar, he was discussed, but did not show the effect. Bihar needs an aggressive and visionary face not neutral.
Challenge to compete with Lalu-Tejasvi
To compete with the aggressive politics of Lalu Yadav and RJD, BJP needs a leader like Yogi of UP in Bihar, Fadnavis of Maharashtra or Hemanta of Assam. A face that has a vision, who can give a logical answer to the questions of Tejashwi Yadav and compete with Prashant Kishore’s aggressive vision but at the moment there is no such face.
Leadership crisis in front of BJP
Despite being the largest party, the BJP is not able to run politics on its terms in Bihar. Due to not coming out of the image of ‘Yas Man’, the party does not seem to be standing in the next 5-10 years. Bihar will find its leader-like Yogi, Fadnavis or Hemanta. But models like Mohan Yadav, Bhajanlal or Naib Singh will not run here. If the BJP does not take soon, it will have to respond to the leadership crisis in the public court.
