Britain: Woman’s leg cut due to negligence of doctors, new life with compensation

Let me tell you that Molly was 22 years old when she reached the Emergency Department of the hospital on 25 April 2020 at 11:30 am. He had coolness, numbness and ankle color had changed. The doctors suspected that they could have a problem of deep vein thrombosis, but they did not do the right tests. Molly said, “I was in a lot of pain, I knew that something was not right. I was crying to my mother and telling me to the hospital.” But doctors in the hospital delayed treatment. The day Molly went to the hospital, if she was surgery the same night, there would be no chance of cutting the leg. But Molly underwent surgery after delay in the hospital at 1:30 pm the next day i.e. more than 16 hours. When his eye opened after surgery, he came to know that his left leg has been cut. Molly said, “When the surgeon told me that my leg had been cut, I could not believe it. I was still feeling my foot. But when the reality was understood, I started crying bitterly.”

After surgery, Molly had to stay in the hospital for 18 more days. But this incident completely changed his life. Molly was quite hardworking earlier. Used to run often. But after this accident, she came on a wheelchair. He also had to take help of others to go to the first floor flat. Molly said, “At first my life was very good, but after cutting my feet, I felt that there was no point in living now.” Molly filed a case against the trust running the hospital after this accident. Recently a decision came in this matter. The trust accepted its mistake and said that if the surgery had been on time, Molly’s leg could have survived. The hospital also admitted to the mistake in its duty. After this Molly received a thick interim compensation, which led to some change in his life. Molly’s lawyer Ashli ​​Quotes said, “Molly’s case shows how bad the lives of patients could be affected by negligence and delay. Molly saw a very difficult time, but his courage is amazing.”
