The Chennai Super Kings Vs SunRisers Hyderabad, IPL 2025 match will be live-streamed on the JioHotstar app and website in India. The match will be shown live on the Star Sports Network channels in India.
The MA Chidambaram Stadium pitch is traditionally known for assisting spinners, especially as the match progresses. The surface tends to slow down, offering significant grip and turn, which would make hitting big shots a challenge. Fast bowlers may enjoy some bounce in the first innings, but the match is likely to be dominated by the spinners.
A total above 160 could be considered competitive on this surface, with the average first-innings score in the stadium standing at around 164 in the IPL. Batting becomes increasingly difficult in the second innings, so the captain winning the toss might look to bat first.
As per The Weather Channel forecasts, the temperature in Chennai will hover around the 31 degrees Celsius mark during game time, with humidity nearing 80%. A little cloud cover (7-8%) will be there, along with wind speeds of 15-18 km/h, but there’s no rainfall predicted while the match is going on.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen(w), Aniket Verma, Kamindu Mendis, Pat Cummins(c), Harshal Patel, Jaydev Unadkat, Zeeshan Ansari, Mohammed Shami
Chennai Super Kings: Shaik Rasheed, Ayush Mhatre, Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja, Dewald Brevis, Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni(w/c), Deepak Hooda, Noor Ahmad, Khaleel Ahmed, Matheesha Pathirana
Oh, heartbreak for CSK! Shaik Rasheed departs for a duck! A peach of a delivery from Mohammed Shami, seaming away just enough to catch the outside edge, and Abhishek Sharma takes a sharp catch at slip.
Sam Curran walks in now to join the 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre.
CSK: 1/1 (0.1)
After early hiccups, CSK is finally steadying their ship. The youngster Ayush Mhatre is playing with confidence, moving to 29 off 17 balls. Ravindra Jadeja, who came in after Sam Curran’s wicket, is yet to find his rhythm but has managed to score 6 off 3 balls.
Harshal Patel dismissed Curran for 9, caught by Aniket Verma at deep mid-wicket.
CSK: 45/2 (5.0)
It’s not looking great for Chennai Super Kings as Ravindra Jadeja’s tough run continues. The all-rounder was bowled out by Kamindu Mendis for 21 off 17 balls, leaving CSK at 74/4 in the 9th over.
Dewald Brevis, though, is still there, fighting to keep CSK’s hopes alive. He’s on 13 from 11 balls, trying to steady the ship.
CSK: 74/4 (9.3)
Dewald Brevis is turning it on at Chepauk! After a cautious start, he’s hammers three sixes in an over off Kamindu Mendis, lifting CSK to 114/4 in 12.4 overs. Shivam Dube has chipped in with some of boundaries too, as the pair rebuilds strongly after Jadeja’s dismissal.
CSK: 114/4 (12.4)
MS Dhoni has walked in and already unleashed a vintage whip to the mid-wicket fence, but Chennai Super Kings are stuttering at 123/6 after 14.2 overs at Chepauk.
Dewald Brevis’ 42 off 25 balls gave the innings momentum, but his dismissal–thanks to a stunning grab by Kamindu Mendis–halted CSK’s charge.
CSK: 123/6 (14.2)
The hopes of a classic Dhoni finish were dashed as the CSK legend fell for just 6 off 10 balls, caught by Abhishek Sharma at backward point off Harshal Patel. With his dismissal, Chennai Super Kings slumped to 134/8 in 17.3 overs.
Deepak Hooda and Noor Ahmad are now at the crease, but with just over two overs left, CSK are struggling to push past the 150-run mark.
CSK: 136/8 (17.5)
Chennai Super Kings have been bowled out for 154 in 19.5 overs at Chepauk. The MS Dhoni-led side struggled under the relentless pressure from the SRH pace unit, with Harshal Patel leading the charge with a clinical 4/28.
Unadkat finished things off by removing Deepak Hooda (22 off 21), who tried to lift the total with a few late boundaries.
CSK: 154 (19.5)
The chase has kicked off, and it’s been a dramatic start for SRH! Khaleel Ahmed strikes early, dismissing Abhishek Sharma for a duck in just the second ball, caught by Ayush Mhatre at cover. With the dew already setting in, SRH will need a steady hand to chase down 155.
Sunrisers Hyderabad are 42/2 after 7 overs. Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck in the very first over by Khaleel Ahmed, and Travis Head followed in the sixth, bowled by Anshul Kamboj for 19. Ishan Kishan is holding one end with 20 off 19, while Klaasen is on 2.
SRH: 42/2 (7)
Chennai Super Kings seem to have clawed their way back into the game with some smart bowling. Ravindra Jadeja has just delivered a huge breakthrough. Heinrich Klaasen, who could’ve been the game-changer for Sunrisers Hyderabad, mistimed one straight to long-on. Hooda made no mistake, and the Proteas destructive batter departs for just 7 off 8 balls.
At 73/3 in 10.4 overs, SRH now need 82 runs from 56 balls. Ishan Kishan is still there on 36, anchoring the chase, while young Aniket Verma is rotating the bat smartly.
SRH: 73/3 (10.4)
Only a catch like that could’ve stopped that cameo from Brevis! 🤯

Noor Ahmad turns the game on its head! He removed Ishan Kishan for 44 off 34 and then Aniket Verma for 19. SRH still need 49 off 36 balls, but they’re five down now. Kamindu Mendis is trying to steady things, but this chase just got a lot trickier. CSK are right back in it!
SRH: 106/5 (14)
SRH have broken their Chepauk jinx! They win by 5 wickets, with Kamindu Mendis hitting the winning runs in the 18th over. CSK’s struggles continue as they face their fourth consecutive defeat at home, dashing their playoff hopes. They are not yet mathematically out, but only miracles can save the MS Dhoni led side.
