End of the powerplay- SRH 37/2
The hosts, CSK, bowl their best powerplay of the season as they get rid of both Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head early on.
Abhishek goes for a 2nd ball duck while Head only manages 16-ball-19 before being dismissed by Khaleel Ahmed and Anshul Kamboj respectively.
The pick of the bowlers so far has been Kamboj who came in as an impact sub and bowled 3 overs for 16 while taking one wicket.
End of innings: CSK – 154/10
CSK are all out for 154 in 19.5 overs, as Deepak Hooda tries to hit Unadkat over long off but can’t clear the boundary. Abhishek Sharma takes another clean catch. The middle order faltered once again today, with the skipper too failing to score big in another match.
Harshal Patel is the pick of the bowlers for SRH, as he picked up four wickets, two being of the dangerous Dewald Brevis and MS Dhoni. SRH needs 155 runs to win to register their third win of the season.
End of 15 overs: CSK – 127/6
After 15 overs, CSK have decent runs on the board but have lost too many wickets. Dewald Brevis played a brilliant knock of 42(29) before Kamindu Mendis took a blinder of a catch to dismiss him. Shivam Dube returned to the dugout for 12(9) as he tried to hit Jaydev Unadkat over long on but couldn’t clear Abhishek Sharma stationed there.
Deepak Hooda 6(5)* and MS Dhoni 5(5)* will look to make the most out of the last five overs to bring up a formidable score and give SRH something to fight for.
End of 10 overs: CSK – 76/4
Chennai finds themselves in deep trouble as they lose their fourth wicket, with Ravindra Jadeja being the latest victim. After getting a good start, Jadeja couldn’t capitalize as an arm ball from Kamindu Mendis skidded and deceived him completely.
Dewald Brevis 14(13)* and Shivam Dube 1(1)* will look to build a partnership here to help CSK reach a respectable total.
End of powerplay: CSK – 50/3
CSK have lost three wickets in the powerplay already. Youngster Ayush Mhatre played well for his 30(19) before falling to skipper Pat Cummins. Sam Curran made a return to the squad but couldn’t capitalize on it. Ravindra Jadeja 8(5)* and debutant Dewald Brevis 2(2)* will be looking to stabilize the innings.
SRH bowlers have bowled pretty well till now. They will look to keep picking wickets at regular intervals.
7:31 pm: WICKET! Rasheed gets caught at slip in the very first ball of the match by Abhishek Sharma. Shami strikes. A dream start for SRH. CSK 0/1 after 0.1 overs.
7:30 pm: The game is underway! Shaikh Rasheed takes strike. Mohammed Shami will start the proceedings for SRH.
7:00 pm: It’s toss time at Chepauk! SRH have won the toss and have chosen to field first.
6:50 pm: CSK have won just one out of their four games at Chepauk this season. They will look to turn their fortunes against the previous year’s finalists.
4:00 pm: The toss is scheduled at 7:00 pm IST. Meanwhile, here’s the Chepauk pitch report.
