UPDATED:
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for their ninth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 which is scheduled to take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Five-time champions CSK have had a forgettable season so far. The franchise are currently at number 10 in the ten teams’ points tally of IPL 2025. CSK managed to register just two wins in their first eight outings of the cash-rich league. SRH has yet to win an IPL match against CSK at Chepauk. The upcoming clash against SRH will be the 400th T20 for legendary wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni.
On the other hand, last edition’s finalists, SRH, also had a forgettable outing in the IPL 2025; the runners-up are currently at number nine in the points table. SRH also played eight matches in IPL so far and just registered two wins. The Pat Cummins-led side recently featured against the Mumbai Indians (MI) where the Hardik Pandya-led side defeated them by seven wickets.
The pitch will help spinners, and that’s another IPL venue that is difficult for the batters to understand. The weather will be hot and humid. The team that will win the toss will opt to bat because chasing is tough at Chepauk.
