The IPL has been suspended for a week due to tensions escalating between the two nations after India’s military action in response to the terrorist attacks on April 22.
The development started after match 58 of IPL 2025 between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dharamshala was suspended on May 8. A day later, the BCCI decided to suspend the tournament for a week while the cross-border issues persist.

The seventh edition of the Indian Premier League saw it being hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the first time in its history. The first 20 matches of the tournament were held in the UAE owing to general elections in India, once again, before returning to India on May 2.
The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League was played in UAE once again, due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic which had impacted India massively at that time.
The 14th edition of the IPL returned to the UAE again, after the tournament was called off mid-way due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi were the three main venues where the remainder of the IPL was conducted.
