The Indian Premier League (IPL) will return for its 18th edition this Saturday. The first match of the season on March 22, will see the first clash between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens.

Both these teams raised eyebrows during the mega auction as RCB released big overseas names like Glenn Maxwell, Will Jacks etc and KKR released their title winning captain Shreyas Iyer.

We can expect an uninterrupted game on Saturday, with no rain forecast for the match time (7:30 PM onwards). Temperatures are expected to hover around 25 degrees Celsius. Humidity is high as usual in Kolkata, expected to be around 70-75%.

According to Accuweather, there is likely to be rain in the afternoon and before the match but no rain is expected during the match, ensuring that a full match is on the cards, as of the current forecast.
If rain washes out the entire match or makes a result impossible, then each side will be awarded one point each. If play is possible after a significant rain delay, the DLS method will be used to determine adjusted targets for the chasing side, in order to complete the match.
