Janjgir Champa:- In Akaltara of the district, a mass marriage of 17 couples was conducted under the Chief Minister’s Group Girls Marriage Scheme, in which a case of remarry of a bride and groom came to light, after which a check of 36 thousand was withdrawn by the department to the bridegroom and the amount of the remaining goods which are about 14 thousand have been issued. Not only this, a show cause notice has been issued to the Anganwadi worker and supervisor of Hardi village.

Block project officer gave information
In this case, the development block project officer Rajeshwari Patle says that we depend on the worker and if the worker applies for marriage without investigation, then it will be wrong. Notice has been issued to both the worker and supervisor from the office and the check has also been withdrawn. Along with this, it has also been ordered to return the original amount of marriage couple, makeup items, expenses in marriage etc. Further, they say that an FIR can also be lodged on the groom. The worker says that the groom Chand Sahu and the groom Nilesh Sahu hid the matter of marriage, they were married in another village, so I have not been able to know.

Child Development Officer gave information
In this regard, Anita Aggarwal, an officer of the Women and Child Development Department, said that on 19 March 2025, there was a mass marriage of 17 couples under the Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana in Mangal Bhavan Akaltara, in which the village Hardi’s couple received a complaint of marriage in the village Kosa on 18 January 2025, which was found to be right immediately. She further states that an affidavit has been given by the concerned couples which have been verified by Anganwadi worker and sarpanch. She says that the concerned couple were taken advantage of the scheme by presenting a false affidavit in the department by the bride Chand Sahu, and Var Nilesh Sahu Village Hardi.

Strict legal action is being taken by the department against giving false affidavits. And a show cause notice has been issued by Project Officer Akaltara to the concerned Anganwadi worker Poonita Sahu and supervisor Sunita Namdev. Along with this, a check of Rs 36,000 has been canceled to the bride and groom and the remaining amount of Rs 14,000 is being done from the concerned. This action has been taken by the department from the district level to prevent false marriage, so that such cases do not happen again in future.

Terms and conditions of Chief Minister Kanya Marriage
The Chief Minister Kanya Marriage is organized by the Women and Child Development Department, in this event, such couples are included, who have not been married before, the age of the bride is over 21 years and the bride is more than 18 years, the applicants are affidavit on the stamp paper of 50/- as per rules that their first marriage and their age is according to the criteria of their parents and their parents are afflicted, their age is related to it. Anganwadi worker and sarpanch of Gram Panchayat are done, checking the application form is done by the concerned supervisor and submitted to the project office, after which the concerned couple is informed about the inclusion of the concern in the program organized to the concerned Anganwadi worker/supervisor.
