The secret of the banyan banyan
A huge banyan tree has been standing in Barpar village of Deoria district for centuries. Its jatas used to kiss the ground and in a dense shade, many generations of villagers were grown. It was said that this banyan was not just a tree, but the guard of the village.
Village protector banyan
The children loved this tree very much. They would play with a swing in its roots and compete to climb its branches. But according to the elders of the village, this tree is not a common banyan. A story about this banyan tree is famous that many years ago, when the village was attacked by the bandits, some sadhus standing under this tree had recited the mantra, and suddenly there was a thunderstorm. The bandits ran away fearfully, and since then this tree came to be considered as “Devvriksha”.
What did MP Shashank Mani say
MP Shashank Mani looked at this banyan and said that it is not just a tree, but our heritage. It has not known how many generations have given shelter. This banyan is a lively proof of our culture and history.
Village soul
The banyan of Barpar is not just a tree, but the identity of the village. For generations, it has been giving shade, rituals and protection. Its jatas are like the roots of the village and its branches are like the hopes of the villagers. It is a living symbol of the memories, traditions and unity of the banyan barpar.
Even today, when a crisis comes, the people of the village gather under this tree, pray and find solutions. This banyan of Barpar is not just a tree, but the soul of the village, which is raising every generation in its shadow.
