Gujarat Titans take on the Lucknow Super Giants in match 64 of the Indian Premier League 2025 season on Thursday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
GT are one of the four teams to have secured their playoff spots and will now hope to finish in the top two after the league stage. That would allow them to play Qualifier 1, which gives them two chances to qualify for the Final.

Meanwhile, LSG were one of the teams who got off to a good start in the season, thanks to the form of their overseas batters — Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, and Nicholas Pooran.
But it was clear that they couldn’t just rely on them for the entire tournament and qualify for the next stage. Captain Rishabh Pant’s poor outing and an inconsistent bowling unit further contributed to their collapse in the second half of the season.
The Sporting News brings you the live updates, scorecard, and all the key events from the GT vs LSG match. Check out below!
End of 10 overs: GT- 97/3
Superb phase of play for Lucknow Super Giants. They have pulled things back brilliantly by removing both Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler- the two key batters who looked set to take the game deep.
Gill and Buttler had good starts but couldn’t convert them into big innings, falling under the pressure of the chase. With both set batters gone, Gujarat Titans are now on the back foot at 97/3 after 10 overs.
The required rate is rising, and GT’s middle order, which has looked a bit undercooked this season, will now be truly tested. LSG have taken control of the match and it won’t be easy for GT from here.
End of powerplay: GT- 67/1
Gujarat Titans had a strong start in the first six overs. Sai Sudharsan hit a boundary off the very first ball and Shubman Gill followed it up with a flurry of fours, including three in a row off Akash Singh.
However, Sai Sudharsan, who has been scoring big runs regularly this IPL, couldn’t carry on this time and got out to O’Rourke. Despite his early dismissal, Jos Buttler came in and quickly made an impact.
At the end of the powerplay, GT reached 67/1, a solid position while chasing a big total. With Sudharsan gone, the team will now rely on Gill and Buttler to do most of the scoring.
End of innings: LSG – 235/2
Lucknow finish strongly on 235 for the fall of just two wickets. Pooran brought up another fifty in just 23 deliveries, marking a 100-run partnership with Marsh, who brought up his first ever hundred in the IPL, while Rishabh Pant hit a couple of sixes at the tail end of the innings.
Gujarat need 236 to win to seal their place in the top two spots in the points table.
End of 15 overs: LSG – 160/1
Lucknow are on a roll now, as they have breached the 150-run mark with five overs still to go. Mitchell Marsh is nearing his first IPL ton, while Nicholas Pooran is hitting the ball quite smoothly too. The GT bowlers have found it difficult to contain the LSG batters in this match so far.
Marsh (89) and Pooran (29) will look to maximize the last five overs and post a mammoth total for Gujarat to chase.
End of 10 overs: LSG – 97/1
Aiden Markram departs on the second last ball of the 10th over, as he tried to clear the long-off boundary but found the safe pair of hands of Shahrukh Khan.
Marsh (51) and Nicholas Pooran (6) will look to build a partnership from here and keep the runs flowing.
End of powerplay: LSG – 53/0
Lucknow have got off to a flying start, as both Aiden Markram and Mitchell have taken on the GT bowlers and brought up their 50-run partnership simultaneously. GT’s Arshad Khan seemed to be in a bit of trouble early on as he fell down in his follow-up, and that too twice. With the help of the physios, he’s back on the field again.
Markram (28) and Marsh (22) will look to build on the start they have got.
7:30 pm: It’s game time in Ahmedabad! Aiden Markram takes strike. Mohammed Siraj to start the proceedings for GT.
7:00 pm: TOSS! Gujarat have won the the toss and have chosen to bowl first.
6:25 pm: The toss is scheduled at 7:00 p.m. IST.
