Holi celebration 2024: Many MPs of the ruling and opposition have urged people to celebrate the festival peacefully on Friday (March 14), seeing the prayers of Holi and Jumme on the same day. He says that the police and administration should ensure that there is no untoward incident in the country.

Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Awadhesh Prasad targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and alleged that the government is raising new issues to divert public attention from unemployment and other major problems. He appealed to all citizens to celebrate the festival together and peacefully.

Administration’s responsibility to maintain law and order

SP MP Zia ur Rehman said that the administration should ensure that Holi is celebrated in a peaceful manner and Muslims can also offer prayers without any hindrance. He emphasized that peace has remained on such occasions earlier and this time the same will happen.

BJP leader made a statement on Hindu-Muslim unity

BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma said that Hindus and Muslims celebrate Holi and Eid together in Uttar Pradesh, because there is unity and coordination between the two communities in the state. He also informed that the Maulanas of Lucknow have set a time for the prayers of two o’clock in the afternoon.

Congress and Left parties appeal for communal harmony

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor underlined India’s diversity and said that when people of two different communities are celebrating Holi and Ramadan on the same day, this is a beautiful example of the culture of the country. At the same time, the Marxist Communist Party (CPI -M) condemned the inflammatory comments of BJP leaders and urged the Center to ensure that all people could celebrate their festival in a peaceful atmosphere.

Appeal to ensure peace from the center

The Left parties demanded the central government to take special steps so that the festival could be done in a cordial manner and any kind of provocation can be avoided. Along with this, he also expressed concern over the issue of delimitation in which the states of South India are likely to suffer losses in the case of seats.
