IPL 2025: Kohli, Salt power RCB to easy win over Rajasthan Royals – The Express Tribune

Rajasthan Royals posted a modest 173 despite Jaiswal's 75, as RCB cruised to victory with 15 balls to spare.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) cruised to a nine-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match in Jaipur on Sunday (April 13, 2025).
Batting first, RR struggled despite a composed 75 from Yashasvi Jaiswal, who anchored the innings to a modest 173. Skipper Sanju Samson once again failed to deliver the impactful start his team needed, and the lack of support from the rest of the batters hindered RR's progress.

On a tricky, two-paced pitch, RCB's openers, Virat Kohli and Phil Salt, made light work of the conditions. The duo shared a 92-run partnership, with Salt leading the charge with a brisk 65 off 33 balls.

Kohli, initially playing the support role, shifted gears after Salt’s dismissal in the ninth over. He brought up his 100th T20 fifty with trademark ease, guiding RCB to victory with a calm 54* off 36 balls.

Despite both teams struggling in the field, with five dropped catches in total, RR suffered more significant setbacks. Riyan Parag dropped Kohli on 7, and Shimron Hetmyer missed an opportunity to dismiss Salt at 40, both costly errors.

RCB’s win lifts them to third place on the points table, while RR remains in seventh, still searching for consistency.
