IPL 2025 Points Table: Updated standings after GT hammer RCB in Bengaluru – Firstpost
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is currently underway, with all 10 teams having completed at least three or four games. With each game carrying crucial points, the competition for the top four spots remains intense. Teams will be looking to maintain consistency and improve their net run rate (NRR) to stay in contention for the playoffs.
The latest match of IPL 2025 saw Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) dominate Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), registering a massive 80-run victory at Eden Gardens. A scintillating batting effort, led by Venkatesh Iyer, was complemented by a ruthless bowling performance, as KKR outclassed their opponents in every department.
Opting to bat first, KKR got off to a shaky start, losing opener Quinton de Kock (1) and Sunil Narine (7) cheaply. However, skipper Ajinkya Rahane (38 off 27) steadied the innings before young Angkrish Raghuvanshi (50 off 32) and Venkatesh Iyer (60 off 29) shifted gears to post 200/6 in 20 overs.
Chasing 201, SRH had the worst possible start as they lost Travis Head (4), Abhishek Sharma (2), and Ishan Kishan (2) within the first three overs. Vaibhav Arora (3/29) and Harshit Rana (1/15) rattled the SRH top order early. Despite some resistance from Nitish Kumar Reddy (19 off 15), Kamindu Mendis (27 off 20), and Heinrich Klaasen (33 off 21), SRH never really recovered and got bowled out for 120 in 16.4 overs.
Here’s a look at the updated points table after the KKR vs SRH clash in Kolkata:
Orange Cap: Nicholas Pooran (LSG) — 189 runs in 3 innings at an average of 63
Purple Cap: Noor Ahmad (CSK) – 9 wickets in 3 innings at an economy of 6.83
