Virat Kohli struck an unbeaten 59 as RCB chased down the 175-run target with nearly four overs to spare.
The Royals then suffered a 44-run defeat against last season’s runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad despite Dhruv Jurel (70 off 35) and Samson’s (66 off 37) blazing fifties helping them post 242/6 on the board. Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan led from the front with an unbeaten 106 off 47 balls as SRH blasted their way to 286/6 – the second-highest total in IPL history.
