The Board of Control for Cricket in India suspended the Indian Premier League 2025 season for a week amid rising cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan.
On Thursday, May 8 the IPL match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals had to be halted midway at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, following rising security concerns. The match was eventually called off.

An emergency IPL governing council meeting was called following the cancellation of the game, and the league, along with BCCI, finally decided to suspend the competition for a week on Friday, May 9.
As uncertainty looms over the future of the 18th season of the IPL amid rising cross-border tension, here are all the live updates regarding IPL 2025.

May 10: Sky Sports has reported that the England and Wales Cricket Board is ready to help BCCI with hosting the remainder of the IPL 2025 season. It now remains to be seen if the Indian board will consider taking the tournament out of the country.
May 9: PBKS and DC players were safely evacuated from Dharamshala to the national capital Delhi in a special train arranged by the BCCI.
