In a closely contested Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 encounter held in Jaipur on April 19, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) emerged victorious, defeating Rajasthan Royals by mere two runs. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, LSG posted a respectable total of 180 runs. They then managed to restrict the hosts to 178/5. Despite needing just nine runs for win in the final over, bowled by Avesh Khan, Rajasthan Royals could only manage six runs, thus succumbing to their fourth consecutive defeat.

Following this narrow win, Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants climbed up the IPL 2025 points table, surpassing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to secure the fourth position in the points table. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals remain in the eighth spot.
In the earlier match, Gujarat Titans (GT) put on a dominant show, gunning down Delhi Capitals (DC) by seven wickets. This victory propelled the former champions to the top of the standings. Gujarat Titans have accumulated 10 points and boast an impressive net run rate (NRR) of +0.984. Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals also possess 10 points but currently occupy the second position due to a slightly lower NRR of +0.589.

RR will next face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on April 24, while LSG will lock horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 22 at the Ekana cricket stadium.
Meanwhile, GT will next be up against Kolkata Knight Riders (LSG) on April 21 while DC will take on LSG on April 22.
