The IPL 2026 auction will begin at 2:30 PM IST on Tuesday, December 16.
You can live stream the IPL Auction on JioHotstar in India and through the Star Sports Network on TV.
The one-day mini auction will see all 10 Indian Premier League franchises compete for 77 available slots, with teams allowed to build squads of up to 25 players. Several marquee names headline the auction pool, including Cameron Green, Steve Smith, David Miller, Quinton de Kock, Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi, all placed in the highest base price bracket.
The auction comes a year after history was made at the IPL 2025 player auction, where Rishabh Pant became the most expensive player in IPL history following his Rs. 27 crore move to Lucknow Super Giants. Moments earlier, Shreyas Iyer had joined Punjab Kings for Rs. 26.75 crore after captaining Kolkata Knight Riders to the title.
Among overseas players, Mitchell Starc still holds the record for the highest bid, having been bought by KKR for Rs. 24.75 crore ahead of the IPL 2024 season.
A few notable names will be absent from the auction, with Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis opting out of IPL 2026.
