Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has reportedly sealed the fate of the explosive Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. With the deadline for the retention set for November 15, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are not willing to leave Ishan Kishan out.
The IPL 2026 trade window is heating up, and one of the biggest names in the spotlight is Ishan Kishan. The stylish left-handed wicketkeeper-batter has become one of the most sought-after players ahead of the upcoming IPL 2026 auction in December.

Earlier, several media outlets claimed that the multiple franchises have shown interest in securing Ishan’s services for the next season. Mumbai Indians (MI), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have reportedly approached SRH for either a trade or a full cash deal.

Among them, the Mumbai Indians (MI) are reportedly leading the race to bring Kishan back, as the franchise still sees him as an ideal fit at the top of their batting order.
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are also looking for a quality Indian top-order batter and a reliable wicketkeeper, and Ishan seems to be a perfect fit for the three-time IPL champions.
Well, Kishan had a mixed season with the SRH earlier this year. Despite being bought for a massive ₹11.25 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction, the Jharkhand cricketer’s season was inconsistent, amassing only 354 runs.
He had started the season with a brilliant century but failed to maintain that momentum, and the team failed to qualify for the playoffs.
However, the Sunrisers Hyderabad is currently hesitant to let Ishan go. Now, a Revsportz journalist, Rohit Juglan, has claimed that the Mumbai Indians are “not interested” in Ishan, and neither are they planning to bring the wicketkeeper-batter to the side for the IPL 2026.
The journalist further revealed that SRH is also not in the mood to release Ishan due to his dual role as the wicketkeeper-batter. SRH is looking for a quality spinner who can bowl four overs, but they are not going to release their top-order batter ahead of the auction.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad are gearing up for a massive squad overhaul ahead of the IPL 2026 auction after finishing sixth in the 2025 season with 13 points. Despite a record-breaking start, including their mammoth 286/4 against Rajasthan Royals, SRH’s campaign lost momentum as key players failed to perform with both the bat and ball.
The SRH team management is now planning to release several high-profile names to rebuild a stronger, more balanced team. Captain Pat Cummins, who cost ₹18 crore, is likely to be released due to fitness concerns and inconsistent form.
Along with him, Mohammed Shami (₹10 crore), Harshal Patel (₹8 crore), Rahul Chahar (₹3.2 crore), Abhinav Manohar (₹3.2 crore), Adam Zampa (₹2.4 crore), and Eshan Malinga (₹1.2 crore) are also expected to be released by the franchise.
By letting go of Cummins, Shami, Harshal, Rahul, Zampa, Malinga, and Manohar, SRH could free up nearly ₹46 crore, giving them a massive purse advantage to target fresh overseas stars and young Indian talent for the IPL 2026.
