End of 12 overs: CSK 127/5
What a rollercoaster! CSK were looking shaky at 93/5 after 10 overs but Dewald Brevis stunned in the 11th to turn the game on its head.
He smashed Vaibhav Arora for 30 runs in one over — three sixes and three fours — with clean, confident hitting that brought up his half-century in just 22 balls. Shivam Dube played the supporting role but couldn’t get going quickly enough.
The 12th over by Narine brought things back under control for KKR — conceding just 4 runs with tight lines and smart bowling. After 12 overs, CSK are 127/5, needing 53 more off the last 8 overs.
End of powerplay: CSK 62/5
It has been a chaotic first six overs in CSK’s chase of 179. The innings started with a wicket first up as Ayush dismissed for a duck and things only got wilder from there.
Debutant Urvil Patel hit a stunning 31 off just 11 balls. He smashed Moeen Ali for 6, 4, 6 in one over.
Harshit Rana dismissed Urvil and suddenly CSK were three down inside three overs. CSK were left reeling at 62/5 at the end of the powerplay. A brutal collapse after a blazing start.
End of innings: KKR – 179/6
KKR finish at 179 for 6 in their quota of 20 overs. Russell played a handy knock in the middle which accelerated the Knights’ innings. Rinku Singh tried to hit it big but failed to do so as the youngster Ayush Mhatre took an excellent catch in the deep. Manish Pandey’s 36 off 28 helped KKR reach a competitive total.
CSK need 180 to win to hurt KKR’s chances of qualifying into the playoffs.
End of 15 overs: KKR – 124/4
Skipper Rahane misses out on another fifty as he departs for 48 trying to reverse sweep Jadeja, but gets caught by Devon Conway at point.
Andre Russell (18) and Manish Pandey (17) will try to maximize the last five overs of the innings.
End of 10 overs: KKR – 87/3
After a good start in the powerplay, KKR lost Sunil Narine as he fell prey to Noor Ahmad. Youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi departed after scoring just 1 as he knicks a ball towards MS Dhoni and the veteran makes no mistake.
Ajinkya Rahane (38) and Manish Pandey (9) will look to build a partnership from here.
8:00 pm: KKR off to a flying start as they post 67/1 in the powerplay.
7:30 pm: Khaleel Ahmed to start proceedings for CSK. Sunil Narine and Rahmanullah Gurbaz at the crease.
7:01 pm: KKR won the toss and decided to bat first.
6:15 pm: The toss is scheduled at 7:00 p.m. IST.
