Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) host Gujarat Titans (GT) in match 39 of the Indian Premier League 2025 at the iconic Eden Gardens on Monday, April 21.
Who will win the KKR vs GT clash? Predict here and win big rewards
KKR have been inconsistent with their performances in the current campaign and have not enjoyed much success on home turf, having lost two out of their three home matches thus far.

They are heading to Eden Gardens on the back of a shock defeat at the hands of Punjab Kings. After the KKR bowlers managed to restrict PBKS to just 111 runs, their batting saw a huge collapse as they were bundled out for just 95 runs.
GT, on the other hand, are sitting at the top of the IPL table with five wins out of their seven outings in the first half of their campaign. They are on the back of a magnificent win over Delhi Capitals as they chased down a 200-plus total in their last match.
As the two sides clash in the high-stakes game in Kolkata, The Sporting News follows the game with live updates, scores and highlights.

End of 10 overs: Kolkata Knight Riders 68/2
KKR’s innings hit a lull in the last four overs leading up to the 10-over mark. Despite not losing any wickets, they managed to score just 23 runs in this period and not even a single boundary was hit.
Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane rotated strike but struggled to find any real momentum. On a pitch that is slow with the ball gripping and holding in the surface , timing shots has not been easy.
With a steep target of 199, KKR will need to shift gears quickly. The onus is now firmly on Rahane to break the shackles and accelerate before the asking rate becomes unmanageable.
End of 6 overs: Kolkata Knight Riders 45/2
KKR began their chase of a daunting 199 against Gujarat Titans on a cautious note. Mohammed Siraj drew first blood early and trapped Rahmanullah Gurbaz LBW.
Ajinkya Rahane and Sunil Narine tried to steady the ship with a small stand. Ishant Sharma conceded a couple of loose balls early on. Rahane added two more boundaries off Prasidh Krishna.
Just when it seemed like KKR might be gearing up for a strong finish to the powerplay, Rashid Khan, who was introduced in the final over of the powerplay, removed Narine and halted KKR’s mini recovery.
At the end of six overs, KKR are 45 for 2, with Rahane holding fort on 22* (17) and Venkatesh Iyer just getting started.
End of the innings: Gujarat Titans 198/3
Jos Buttler gives the Titans a strong finish with an unbeaten 41 off 23 while Shahrukh Khan chips in with 11*(5).
Sai Sudharsan reclaims the orange cap with 52(36) while captain Gill misses out on a century as he is dismissed by Vaibhav Arora at 90 from 55.
Vaibhav, Andre Russell and Harshit Rana scalp a wicket each despite being a bit expensive.
Varun Chakravarthy ends with the most economical spell of 0/33 in his quota of 4 overs.
End of 10 overs: Gujarat Titans 89/0
Both Gill and Sudharsan approach the fifties as they accelerate and get 44 runs at the rate of 11 runs per over after the powerplay.
Sudharsan is unbeaten at 37 off 28, while the skipper is just a run away from his fifty at 49*(33).
Sunil Narine has been the most economical bowler of the night so far, conceding 16 in 2 overs.
End of 6 overs: Gujarat Titans 45/0
The Titans have started cautiously as they have been doing throughout this season and managed to score at a rate of 7.5 runs per over.
Captain Gill finds himself at 22*(19) while Sai Sudharsan who is in the race to win the orange cap, is 21*(17).
The best bowler so far has been Varun Chakravarthy who has conceded only 7 in his one over.
An interesting stat coming up from Cricviz, as we are all set to see the Titans bat first at the Eden Gardens.
So far in the tournament, 71% of Gujarat Titans’ runs (1352) have come from their top-3, i.e., Sai Sudharsan (365), Jos Buttler (315) and Shubman Gill (215).
There have been only two previous occasions where the top-3 of a team has contributed more in the team’s season tally when the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s top-3 got 73% runs in 2016 and the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s top-3 got 74% in 2019.
