KKR Vs RCB IPL 2025, Head-To-Head Stats: Most Wins, Runs, Wickets, Top Performers And More – News18
Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the first match of IPL 2025 on Saturday (March 22) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Both the teams will have new captains after they opted not to retain the ones who led them in the 2024 season. Kolkata Knight Riders defeated RCB in both the matches played last season, and on Saturday they will start as favourites once again, but they can’t afford to take RCB lightly, who, along with batting superstar Virat Kohli, include the likes of Phil Salt and Josh Hazlewood.
Salt was with KKR in the IPL 2024 and scored big runs at the top. The Knight Riders will be wary of the threat posed by the English wicketkeeper-batter.

In addition to Salt, RCB team management and fans will have high expectations from the likes of new captain Rajat Patidar and all-rounder Krunal Pandya.

KKR, on the other hand, will bank upon the experience of four Rs – Ajinkya Rahane, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell and Ramandeep Singh – in the middle order to get the job done. KKR’s biggest strength in IPL 2025 is the spin attack, which consists of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy along with Moeen Ali, Mayank Markande and Anukul Roy.
