Rajasthan Royals will take on defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 53 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season at the Eden Gardens on Sunday, May 4.
The inaugural champions are unbeaten in their last three games against the Kolkata Knight Riders at this venue, with their last defeat coming in 2018.
The KKR vs RR IPL 2025 match will begin at 3:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).

Earlier this season, the two sides clashed at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati. Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal made handy contributions, but the Royals’ total of 151 was chased down by Kolkata in the 18th over.
With the capacity to hold 63,000 spectators, the Eden Gardens is one of the largest and most iconic cricket stadiums in India. Referred to as ‘Cricket’s answer to the Colosseum,’ the stadium was opened in 1864 and has hosted several iconic matches. The ground underwent renovation ahead of the 2011 World Cup.
The Eden Gardens has hosted 96 IPL matches to date since the inaugural season. The chasing team here wins the match about 58 percent of the time. Last season, it witnessed the highest score at the venue when PBKS posted 262/7, in what was a record chase in the IPL.
The match against KKR on May 4 will be the Rajasthan Royals’ 12th match in IPL 2025.
After their showdown in Kolkata, the Rajasthan Royals will travel to Chepauk to take on the Chennai Super Kings on Monday, May 12.
