Before him, only Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, and Virat Kohli had managed this feat, all of them at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Rohit came in as an impact substitute for Mumbai Indians and played a short innings. He scored 26 runs from 16 balls, including three sixes. While his knock was brief, the six-hitting record made it a special outing for him.
Rohit has been getting starts in the ongoing IPL 2025 season but is yet to convert them into a big score.
Kieron Pollard, the former Mumbai Indians all-rounder, is second on the list of most sixes at Wankhede with 85. This shows Rohit’s consistency and power-hitting ability at the venue over the years.
In the overall six-hitting list in the IPL, Rohit now stands second with 286 sixes from 263 matches. Chris Gayle leads the list with 357 sixes from just 142 matches, showing his incredible dominance as a T20 batter.
Earlier in the match, Mumbai Indians bowled well to restrict Sunrisers Hyderabad to 162/5 in their 20 overs. Will Jacks, used as a part-time spinner, was the most successful bowler with figures of 2 for 14 in three overs. Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Trent Boult took one wicket each.
Mumbai Indians chased down the target with 11 balls remaining and four wickets to spare.
