Lifeline of Cricket
IPL 2025 has been suspended due to the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan and the Board of Control for Cricket in India has revealed that the remaining games will be played after a week. However, there is uncertainty as the conflict between the two countries is still not over. India have a September window after the possibility of the proposed Asia Cup have taken a back seat.
However, with 16 games remaining and six franchises still in contention for the four playoff berths, the players could lose the momentum.
The BCCI would want to complete the IPL at the earliest. Meanwhile, former England captain Michael Vaughan has come up with a solution for the 18th season and the Indian players. The IPL was conducted in South Africa and the UAE in the past for various reasons. Vaughan suggests the BCCI could complete the remaining fixtures in England.
“I wonder if it’s possible to finish the IPL in the UK. We have all the venues, and the Indian players can then stay on for the Test series. Just a thought?” Vaughan posted on X.
England have around 20 stadiums and if the BCCI and the ECB come on board, managing 16 contests, three playoffs, and the final should be easy. India and England will clash in the five-match Test series in June.
