Rajasthan Royals enters the IPL 2026 auction with one overwhelming priority: restoring its spin attack. After releasing Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana and Kumar Kartikeya, RR left dangerously thin in spin resources and must correct that imbalance immediately.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) Auction Strategy 2026
Primary needs: Spinners, experienced fast bowler
RR’s most glaring hole is spin. It has released:
Maheesh Theekshana
Wanindu Hasaranga
Kumar Kartikeya
RR is currently left with Ravindra Jadeja as the primary spin option, which is an unsustainable imbalance across venues like Chennai, Lucknow, and Jaipur.
It is also expected to target an experienced Indian or overseas fast bowler to strengthen the new-ball attack.
Purse remaining: Rs. 16.05 crore
Current squad: Donovan Ferreira (traded in from DC), Ravindra Jadeja (traded in from CSK), Sam Curran (traded in from CSK), Dhruv Jurel, Jofra Archer, Kwena Maphaka, Lhuan-Dre Pretorius, Nandre Burger, Riyan Parag, Sandeep Sharma, Shimron Hetmyer, Shubham Dubey, Tushar Deshpande, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Yudhvir Singh
