Shashi Tharoor On India-Pakistan Ceasefire:
Shashi haroor on India-pakistan ceasefire: Political rhetoric on the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan has intensified. The Congress, while highlighting the 1971 leadership of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, criticized the war policy of the Modi government, while Congress MP Shashi Tharoor took a balanced stand. He clarified that the circumstances of 1971 and 2025 are completely different and at present there should be peace and stability primary goals for India.
Tharoor said that this time India had taken action to teach terrorists a lesson, which has now been completed. He says that this was not a war that we wanted to continue. We responded to the terrorists and it should end now. According to him, India should focus on its economic progress and the safety of citizens, not to get caught in war for a long time.

Tharoor also underlined that the 1971 war was a moral objective. He was fought for the independence of Bangladesh. At that time, India was fighting for a moral reason to provide freedom to the people. Today the situation is different. Pakistan’s military status, technical ability and strategic thinking have changed. He said that today’s India does not just change, but wants stability.
After ceasefire, Congress told the achievement of 1971
As soon as the news of the ceasefire came, the Congress shared the pictures of Indira Gandhi and reminded the achievements of 1971. It was seen as a tan on Prime Minister Modi’s strategy, but Tharoor took out a view from the party line and reviewed the current situation in depth.
BJP surrounds Congress
BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia asked the Congress what action was taken by the Manmohan Singh government after the 26/11 attack? He questioned the dual mentality of the Congress. Jairam Ramesh demanded the Prime Minister to call an all -party meeting so that the country could get information about the process from Pahalgam attack to ceasefire. He also questioned the “neutral site” by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio – has India acknowledged the mediation of third party in the Kashmir issue?
