Maheesh Theekshana will lead the Sri Lanka cricket team’s spin bowling attack when they host Bangladesh for a three-match T20 series, starting July 10.
The hosts will be without star leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, who sustained a hamstring injury while batting in the third ODI on Tuesday and has been ruled out of the T20 series.
The SL vs BAN 2025 T20 series will be available to watch on live streaming and telecast in India. All Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh T20 matches are scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM IST.
The three-match Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh T20 2025 series will be played across Kandy, Dambulla and Colombo.
The opener is set for July 10 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, followed by the second game at Rangiri Dambulla Stadium on July 13. The final T20I will take place at the R. Premadasa Stadium on July 16.
Sri Lanka have pulled off some strong performances so far in the ongoing Bangladesh tour having won the two-match Test series 1-0 and the ODIs 2-1. Hasaranga was instrumental in the ODIs, topping the wicket charts with nine scalps at an average of under 12.
Theekshana, while not among the wickets in the third ODI, bowled a crucial spell of 0/18 in six overs to help defend 285 and win the series.
He was a key figure in the IPL 2025 campaign for Rajasthan Royals, finishing as the joint-highest wicket-taker for the team alongside Hasaranga and Jofra Archer, each bagging 11 scalps. Theekshana is eighth in the ICC men’s rankings for T20I bowlers.
