America’s National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard made a statement about EVMs that once again started discussing whether the EVM is safe or not. Gabbard said that the electronic voting machine used in the election i.e. EVM can be hacked.

However, according to sources in the Election Commission of India, the things that Tulsidas Gabbard have somewhere does not apply to the electronic voting machine used in India. Addressing the media, Gabbard had said that the cabinet has found evidence that these electronic voting systems have been weak for hackers for a long time. Also, they are under the possibility of manipulating the results of votes.

Tulsi Gabbard said that now there is a need to make the use of paper ballot mandatory across the country so that voters can rely on the integrity of US elections. According to Election Commission sources, some countries use electronic voting machines which are a mixture of many systems, machines and processes, including internet and other private networks.

Election Commission sources said that the EVMs used in India are different from the US and other countries. According to sources, the EVMs that are used in India do not require internet nor can it be associated with any network or WiFi.

Sources in the Election Commission have said that EVMs act like simple, correct and accurate calculator. It was also told that the EVMs used in India have also been considered safe by the Supreme Court of India. Different political parties have also investigated them many times.

It was said by the Election Commission that before the election starts, there is also a mock poll in front of the polling agent appointed by political parties, in which polling agents of all political parties see whether the machine is working well or not. According to information received from the sources of the Commission, during the counting of more than five crore VVPAT slips, it has been matched in front of political parties, so that transparency remains and till now there is no disturbance in it.
