India’s Venkatesh Iyer was picked by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for Rs. 7 crore in the IPL 2026 Auction on Tuesday.
RCB was involved in a bidding war with Iyer’s former side Kolkata Knight Riders before securing his signing.
The batting all-rounder has recently scored 141 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of over 105.22 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025-26.
Iyer had bagged Rs 23.75 crores in the IPL 2025 auction to play for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
The 30-year-old has played for only one IPL franchise — Kolkata Knight Riders. He has featured in 62 games, scoring 1468 runs at an average of 29.95 and a strike rate of 137.32.
