The Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 is going strong and has reached its business end. The tournament garnered praise last season, and the popularity has increased in 2025. Several of the Indian Premier League stars have also featured in the ongoing edition and have carved a name for themselves.
There has been a great amalgamation of IPL and DPL, and in this piece, we will talk about 3 players in the DPL, who could be retained by their respective IPL franchises ahead of the mini auction.
Priyansh Arya was the breakout star of the DPL 2024 season, as Punjab Kings noticed him and snatched him in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The franchise wanted an aggressive opener at the top, and the captain-coach duo of Shreyas Iyer, and Ricky Ponting put their faith in Priyansh, and the batter didn’t disappoint.

Ayush Badoni plays for the South Delhi Superstarz, and has done extremely well for the franchise. In the IPL, he represents the Lucknow Super Giants, and has been associated with the team since the teams’ inception.
Over the years, he has solidified himself as a reliable middle order batter, and can play multiple roles in the side. 963 runs in 56 matches for LSG, but most importantly, he strikes decently at 138.56. LSG certainly wouldn’t want to lose a reliable finisher, and he could be high on the retention list.
The controversial IPL player, Digvesh Rathi became famous in the league due to his notebook celebration, and it often led to controversies. In the DPL, he plays for South Delhi Superstarz, and he carved a name for himself in the IPL 2025 season.
